'Unprecedented' skull fossil reveals face of human ancestor evolution
The amazing fossil offers a snapshot from the dawn of human evolution. "It's the skull we've been waiting for," one scientist says. Formally designated MRD-VP-1/1, this newfound complete skull belongs to an early human ancestor that died some 3.8 million years ago called Australopithecus anamensis.
